A very pleasant walk, mostly in woods, but plenty of open space too, with good views. Very little of the route is on public roads, and it’s a bit slippery and muddy in places after rain. The route can be easily adapted for a shorter distance. It passes the entrance to Chartwell, Churchill’s home, now owned by the National Trust. The Royal Oak at Crockham Hill serves excellent ales from the nearby Westerham brewery - less than a mile away. The route starts and ends at an amply-sized car park.
