The Victoria - Azure window - Victoria -trail is an excellent hike around the southwest part of Gozo, starting from Victoria. Most of the route is along very narrow roads or trails. None of the inclines are extreme, both the up- and downhill parts are more or less easy.
The route is part of the governments program of encouraging hiking. This means that there are blue and white markings along some parts of the path. Mostly in places where you don't need guidance, though.
The route is in a good shape so basic sneakers would be as good as hiking gear.
The high point of the path is the slow reveal of the Azure window from kilometers away. You get a real sense of accomplishement.

Mooie trial, gebaseerd op de infobrochure van de turist-information. Het eerste deel van de trial is minder aangenaam door de vele zware vrachtwagens die langs komen op de smalle wegen.
En spijtig genoeg staat het Azure window niet meer recht.
Wij namen de bus van de Azure window terug naar Victoria.

We must have been lucky - when we did the route we had no major traffic and we had the window, but walking back, there were a number of tourist buses that passed us.
