Rutebeskrivelse
Lovely walk around the outside of Pegeia Forest. It includes some of the E4 European long distance footpath and a section of the Kathikas nature trail.
It’s mostly uphill for the first half, steep in places, and then mainly downhill for the remainder.
Park in the football club car park behind Namos Bar and start your walk from there. The first and last mile are on tarmac roads while the rest of the route is dirt trails.
The second half of the walk provides some spectacular views of the valleys, forest, and coastline, and the first half isn’t too bad either!
Good paths the whole way, and very easy to follow.
No food or water on the route, and not much shade either, so be prepared. The route starts/finishes at a couple of restaurants which may or may not be open depending on the time of year.
There are several small picnic sites and benches on the route, so plenty of opportunities to stop for a rest.
All in all, quite a long but very enjoyable and scenic walk.
