We took the bus from Thann which drops you in the lake car park. Starting the hike around the lake. At the end of the lake you turn right to see the first of the waterfalls.
The trails zigzags up the mountain with great views all the way up of different cascades.
There is a nice mountain cabin with a picnic table just before the top. Make sure to explore behind the cabin along the stream. It is very beautiful.
There is not a view from the top of the mountain. The views are when you start to walk down the other side.
The trail is easy to follow. A few crossing trails so just double check the trail once you hit an intersection.
Once you go over the dam wall. Turn right to head upto the ruins of the castle.
Amazing views down the valley from the top. And some great tunnels.
You finish back at the car park.
There is a kiosk at the lake that sells food, drinks, beer etc. There is also a toilet there.
If you have time and it's a nice day the lake is a good swimming spot.
