Rutebeskrivelse
Starts from CCs hideaway hotel which is north of Kata Beach. The walk starts with a lot of big hills along a concrete road. There are a few signs at certain forks along the way to direct you which way to go. After the hills there is a red dirt path up a hill which is very eroded. After the hilly portion of the eroded path it flattens out and then hits a fork. Stay right at the fork and continue along the path and you will come to a row of ATV and a shelter where the have elephants. There is a beautiful look out at the restaurant east of the path that looks out over Old Phuket town. You will continue to walk uphill along the road that winds its way up to Big Buddha. There are a number of restaurants and lookout points along the way. It is about 2km from the elephants and first lookout point to Big Buddha. It is difficult to get a taxi or Tuk Tuk to go back down because many of them are return trips from passengers who took them up. We went to the coffee shop right near the entrance and she called her cousin to come pick us up and drive us back to Kata.
