I have followed this trail  Vis mere

Thanks for the idea! It is a good base for a longer or shorter walk. I decided to view the cliffs to the north west of the village starting from the tarmac road behind the Gjaargardur guesthouse. As you soon reach the lower cliffs, It is a very steep walk up the hill. A staircase had been built there very recently during the "Closed for maintenance, open for voluntourism"-week and a couple of local men were still working on it. As seems to be ever more usual around the Faroes, a fee needs to be paid to access the land. It is private land and sheeping grounds after all. Contrary to other walking areas where idiotic prices are asked, a modest 50DKK is requested to be put in an honesty box. Seems more than reasonable particularly because of the nice stairs too. It s all grand views from there on and as you reach the 'end' of the cliffs / there where official dangersigns tell you to go no further, I went up Fjallidth mountain and back over it s ridge to rejoin the official path that says 'GATE' and back to the tarmac road. Careful getting off Fjallid down the south east end, the rocks are too high too follow the ridge back to front. Better get down a slope half way.
