Coastal walks in Ireland usually involve the climbing of fences, the crossing of small streams, muddy portions, a bit of rock climbing and grim looking bulls standing in your way. This walk here is no different but you're rewarded with splendid wild coastal scenery and the chance of observing rare sea birds as well as dolphins and seals. Start your walk from the car park at Whitestrand beach, one of the best beaches in Clare and rightly rewarded with the Blue Flag. This walk can be combined with the walk "Bluepool to Horseshoe (Baltard Bay)". Whitestrand B&B is closeby and highly recommended, other accommodation and more about the area on http://www.doonbeg-ireland.com

I have followed this trail  Vis mere

This is a very nice trail, going out over the cliffs and back over little-used roads. Brilliant views all the way. There's actually little chance of meeting angry bulls, as most of the way there's a fence between the fields and the path.

You do want good walking boots, because it can be soggy here and there, and with little kids there are one or two places where you have to take care of the edge, but no 100ft drops or anything, and the winds are always coming from sea anyway:-)
