This walk is described as 11.3km in length, yet we walked approx 1/2 of it and it was 8.5km! I think that the difference is that the 11.3km is 'birds eye view' and the 8.5km includes the hills. In any event, we reached the point where we were uncertain that we would complete the route prior to dark, and returned via the original path. It is also described as minimum time 4hrs - this is pretty optimistic in my opinion, you would really need to be moving.
With almost 400m ascent, most of it steep, this is a physically quite demanding walk. The views and scenery do make it a rewarding walk. So note that this walk is technically 'Easy', however, physically quite demanding - especially if one did the whole circular route as described.
Park in a narrow pull-in at the southern edge of Capel-y-ffin, close to the bridge. The intial part of the walk is up a lane to the Grange Pony Trekking Centre, then past a house and through a few gates. This is described in the book, or just follow the GPS track.
If you are there are the right time the heather is flowering and the views and colours are amazing.
