This route goes from the train station to another mountain right next to Mt. Aso which has a beautiful view of the volcano and the surrounding region. When I went Aso was closed due to volcanic activity so this is a great alternative to still see the volcano and the areas around it. It had some of the most beautiful views I have seen. There is a bus that will cut out the first part of the walk and ends right next to Mt. Aso, however I was cheap and the walk there is really nice as well.

You can climb Mt. Eboshi for great views.
