Lisbon walking tour 2 - Baixa and Santa Catarina

Alfama and its neighbours Graca and Castelo offer snapshots of views and alleys of quaint beauty. Starting from the city centre head towards Museu Do Teatro Romano for the Miradouro de Santa Luzia where at the back of the viewpoint there are painted tiles of historic scenes. Miradouro Das Portas Do Sol has good views over Alfama and Graca. Next head for the Castelo de São Jorge where there is an entrance fee and long queues at busy times. Its worh a walk arouind to Igreja de Santa Cruz Do Castelo. Then double back to Sé Catedral de Lisboa. The heart of Alfama is around Largo de São Miguel where at night Fado is to be taken in. Mercado de Santa Clara is where a flea market might be found at weekends. Nearby there is the Jardim Botto Machado with its viewpoint. Its worth time going thenm to the Panteão Nacional and the Miradouro de Santa Clara at the top. Return by the Museu de São Vicente de Fora, closed on my visit, before going to the Miradouro Da Graça and Igreja Da Graça where refreshments can be got. Then on to Miradouro Nossa Senhora Do Monte, the highest viewpoint before returning to the city centre.
