Gibraltar Falls is a very popular tourist stop, partly because there isn't much walking! So you get a lot of visitors who arrive, park the car, walk to the falls and then drive off.
There is a slightly longer walk to Woods Reserve from Gibraltar Falls (1km), so you can make a longer round trip by starting at Woods Reserve and then walking to Gibraltar Falls and back (2.5km round trip). We started the walk to Woods Reserve and then the weather came over and we decided we didn't want to be trapped in a thunderstorm so turned arround.
The forest in this area is not as interesting as the forest on the Square Rock walk, however, if you are going to Square Rock then Gibraltar Falls is on the way and it is definitely worth stopping for a look.
Due to the number of visitors there are many, many signs warning you that you could fall off a cliff. Certainly while we were there there were lots of visitors ignoring the signs and walking all the way to the edge. Perhaps every now and again someone falls off...
There is a fully equiped (free) BBQ where you could cook something, also toilets at the car park.
There is a free gas BBQ facility with open space and tables etc.
This is one of the largest warning signs, it is also where the trail to go to the top of the waterfall branches off.
The track to Woods Reserve crosses the creek that provides the water to the waterfall here.
This is the lookout platform, there is a steel walkway down to the lookout.
Parking, room for approx 7 vehicles.
