Rutebeskrivelse
This is a spectacular ride. Take a train to Andermatt to start. I start the ride here because it is not fun riding up through the tunnels from Goeschenen. If you drive to the start, leave you car in Goeschenen and take the train to Andermatt. There are stores and water fountains at the tops of the passes and down in the valleys to resupply your drinks. There is not much in between. Bring a jacket, riding pants, and rain gear. Weather in the mountains is unpredictable and afternoon thunderstorms are common. You will also need to have lights on your bike for the tunnels because many of the tunnels in the mountains do not have lights so you need to be visible for safety. Bicycle insurance is required by law in Switzerland. You can buy the little insurance sticker at most convenient stores for about 10 Swiss francs.
